FAQ

## Frequently asked questions

### Is Quant Daily free?

The daily is free, permanently — three timed drills every day, no ads, no account needed. Extra practice is metered at 3 drills a day; signing in does not raise the cap. There is an optional paid tier: [Quant Daily Pro](https://quantdaily.app/pro) will be $12.99/month or $79.99/year (USD, checkout coming soon). Pro adds unlimited practice, full solutions, and the drill archive. The daily itself is never metered.

### Which exams does Quant Daily help with?

**GRE, GMAT and other professional quant exams.** The drills train calculation speed rather than one exam's syllabus. Independent practice — not affiliated with ETS or GMAC.

### Do I need an account to use Quant Daily?

No. Every drill is playable without signing up or giving an email address; your streak is kept against an anonymous session on your device. Signing in is optional and **open to everyone** — with Google, or with a passwordless code sent to your email. It carries your streak across devices. It does not raise the 3-drill practice cap. A Pro subscription attaches to the signed-in account.

### How many drill types are there?

**23, in two paths.** **Speed tricks** has 7 mental-math drills; **Exam quant** has 16 paper drills, from percentages and DI to P&C and probability. One kind is served each day and the rotation cycles through all of them. [See all 23 with their time limits →](https://quantdaily.app/drill-types)

### How long do I get for each drill?

15 to 70 seconds, depending on the kind and difficulty — [every limit is published](https://quantdaily.app/drill-types). The question is downloaded *before* your clock starts, so a slow connection never eats your seconds.

### What happens if the timer runs out?

The round closes itself and shows the correct answer with a full walkthrough, so you still get the method. An answer submitted after the buzzer is judged a timeout and scores zero — with a three-second network grace so a buzzer-beater is not robbed by a slow connection.

### Is the timer enforced on the server?

No — and that is deliberate. Start time and elapsed time are both stamped **on our server**, and the deadline is judged there rather than in your browser. It is also why a drill has no shareable link: a URL would let someone read the question and come back later with the clock already spent.

### How is the score calculated?

A correct answer scores a base by difficulty — 100 easy, 200 medium, 300 hard — plus a speed bonus of up to 150 that decays evenly to zero at the buzzer. Half the clock left, half the bonus. Wrong or late scores 0. Each drill also shows your rank among that day's solvers.

### Do the questions repeat?

No. Every drill is generated fresh and verified by machine before it is served — the answer is computed from the printed expression, not written by hand. There is no fixed bank to memorise.

### Is Quant Daily only speed tricks?

No. Seven of the 23 kinds are mental-math speed tricks; the other sixteen are ordinary exam quant — percentages, DI, quadratic comparison, profit & loss, time & work, P&C, probability and more. The speed-trick drills are there because they make a 15-second answer physically possible, not as a separate subject. [Browse all 23 kinds →](https://quantdaily.app/drill-types)

### How is this different from a question bank or a mock test?

A question bank teaches topics; a mock test measures a whole paper. Quant Daily trains one thing daily — how fast you compute under a real deadline — in about five minutes. Use it *alongside* your course or question bank, not instead of one.

### Can I install Quant Daily on my phone?

Yes — it is a Progressive Web App. Open it in your mobile browser and choose **Add to Home Screen**. It opens full-screen like an app, with no app store and no download.

### Does Quant Daily work offline?

No — you need a connection, because both the drill and its clock are served and judged on our server. That server-side clock is exactly what makes the score trustworthy.
